CELEBRITY chef Brian Turner gave a live cooking demonstration for a crowd of 250.

The chef, from the TV show Ready Steady Cook, whipped up a three-course meal of grilled pickled mackerel, stuffed saddle of lamb and a white chocolate and raspberry trifle at Barratts Digital World in Maynard Road, Wincheap.

He said: "Canterbury is a nice little city. "

He was there to use a new range of Belling cookers which Barratts have on show.

The children's charity Kent Kids Miles of Smiles also attended and raised more than £300 from a raffle. Money will buy a 42-inch flat screen TV for the children at Redwalls, in Stodmarsh Road, Canterbury.

The charity based in Stodmarsh Road, Canterbury has been supported by Barratts for three years.
