Former Spurs ace joins Dunton Green
HE IS more used to patrolling the midfield on the hallowed turf of Wembley and White Hart Lane, but this season Mickey Hazard will be lighting up Dunton Green Recreation Ground in the Sevenoaks and District Football League.
Yes, that's right, the 49-year-old former UEFA Cup and FA Cup winner with Tottenham Hotspur has signed for Division One outfit, Dunton Green Football Club.

So instead of lining up alongside the legendary players such as Glenn Hoddle and Ossie Ardiles, Hazard, who now works as a London cab driver, will be sharing a changing room with the likes of Jack Edmeads and Graham Waugh.
"It will be fantastic," Hazard said. "You never lose that buzz to want to play the game of football. Playing for the ex-Spurs XI recently it's just magical when you get the ball at your feet and do something special, whether it be a great pass or a nutmeg. You never lose that desire, you just get old!"

“My friend (i shall withold his name to protect the innocent) plays for Dunton Green where he gets by on £1,500 a week plus win bonuses.
Most of the team are on slightly less (£1-£1,250) although at least two players pick up £20,000, and one almost £45,000, although his job does include cleaning the dressing rooms after training.
The world of football has gone crazy!”

“Dunton Green must have a substantial wage budget to attract a legend like Hazard....
I wonder who will be next? Waddle, Hoddle, Villa, Wilson, perhaps even Gazza!!!!!”
