PLANS have been unveiled for the final section of Sittingbourne's Northern Relief Road - the stretch between Murston and Bapchild.

Residents viewing the proposed route during a two-day exhibition at Hempstead House Hotel in Bapchild gave mixed reactions, some expressing concern about noise and damage to countryside.

David Ansell, 54, said: “It is going to cause noise implications for the whole village. We will be very active in fighting our corner.”

The fourth and final section of the relief road - expected to cost £20.5 million - will complete the route linking the A249 at Kemsley with the A2 at Bapchild.
