Siblings run for charity helping dad
Tom Leach, 25, and his sister Beth Leach, 23, ran the Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon on Sunday in aid of the Cardiomyopathy Association (CMA), which supports sufferers of heart muscle condition cardiomyopathy and funds medical care.
Their father Andy, 60, of Lower St Mary's, Ticehurst, has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which sometimes causes problems with the heart's pumping ability and rhythm. Diagnosed 15 years ago after collapsing, Andy has been in relatively good health since then and is able to enjoy light exercise, thanks to heart specialists and support from the CMA. Tom, a surveyor from Maple Court, Warberry Park Gardens in Tunbridge Wells, said: "My aim was to complete the race in under two hours so I'm very pleased with my time."

Primary school teacher Beth, of Lower St Mary's, added: "Our dad isn't able to run but is very grateful for the way the CMA has supported him and the family. So when we heard this local race was supporting the Cardiomyopathy Association we decided it would be great to take part and raise money for the CMA."
