A TRIO of concerts will bring "internationally revered" musicians to New Romney and Hythe this summer.

The mini-series will kick off on Thursday, July 5 with a family concert of Bach, Handel and Ives and Chilcott's A Sporting Chance featuring youngsters from Hythe Bay primary school at St Leonard's Church in Hythe. It starts at 2pm.

On July 6 the Orchestra of the Age Enlightenment will perform at the same venue. There will be talk with composer at 6.45pm before the concert starts at 7.30pm.

A day later there will be a "dazzling feast of choral music" in celebration of the Queen's Jubilee, to be held at St Nicholas Church, in New Romney, from 7.30pm.

A spokeswoman for series organiser JAM described the concerts as "sensational".

She added: "We'll be bringing renowned composer and conductor Bob Chilcott to work with 100 children from Hythe Bay for a public performance."
