Schools in the pool
THREE schools pooled their resources to make a splash at Herne Bay's Heron Leisure Centre last Thursday.
More than 40 primary school pupils spent the day learning about water polo, synchronised swimming, stroke development, water safety and diving as part of Aqua Splash.

Centre manager Mike Marsh said: "The idea was to promote swimming in a positive way and explain to the youngsters you do not have to just swim up and down the pool."
The lessons were led by Fiona Ingram of Herne Infants with funding from Herne Bay High School.

She said: "We invited five schools but only three turned up. They were Herne Bay Infants, Herne Infants and St Mary's RC School from Whitstable.
"It was a wonderful morning for the children. They spent three happy hours splashing about and perfecting their swimming skills."
