School members join together to celebrate
TEXTILES, art, photography and even food made by pupils in Years 8, 9 and 10 have been on display as part of a celebration evening.
Last week Create 10 exhibited work and staged performances by Sandwich technology students studying classes in art, animation, design and technology, drama, film and performance.

Three pupils took on the role of curators for the art section, seeing them select and hang the pieces for show.
Art teacher Maria Stone said: "It was a celebration of creativity within the student body.
"Rather than the traditional performance where everybody comes in and sits down, we took a holistic approach where people could move from one area to another.
"The art exhibition was curated by students and it was an intensive and demanding role."
Performances included dance, music, the school's "Glee Club", bands, choir-singing and drama.
Mrs Stone said: "The range of talent was outstanding."
Three songs were performed from Les Miserables, which the school cast will stage at the Gulbenkian Theatre in Canterbury on Tuesday, July 20 until Sunday July 25, excluding Friday, at 7.30pm. Saturday, July 24 will have a matinee performance at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £14 and £12. Call 01227 769075 to book.
Sandwich Tech also hosted a whole school reunion on the same night to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
The school, which was originally called Sandwich Central School when it opened in 1935, wanted to get former pupils and staff together and is also putting together a memories book.
School librarian Susan Hibberd sent out a letter to past pupils and teachers asking them to contribute. She said: "I am delighted with the responses I have had so far and have been in contact with people from every decade.
"Many of these have very kindly shared their photographs with me as well as their memories, and copies of these will be added to our school archives.
"It's funny how little school life has changed, with pupils remembering how they used to think up nicknames for the teachers, try to avoid doing the cross country run and get round the uniform rules."
The closing date for sending in memories is July 23. They can be submitted by e-mail at susan.hibberd@sandwich-tech.kent.sch.uk or by writing to Susan Hibberd at Sandwich Technology School, Dover Road, Sandwich.
The book will be published in the autumn.
