SINEMA AMNESIA BY MARK WALLINGER:
Sinema Amnesia will pitch up on the promenade by Turner Contemporary. From July 7, until August 5. 10am to 6pm. Sinema Amnesia shows the film, The Waste Land.
With a lens recording the view out to sea, the structure is like a camera obscura, except that the image you see playing inside is what was recorded 24 hours before. Inspired by TS Eliot's famous poem The Waste Land, partly written on Margate seafront, Mark Wallinger creates a time machine where viewers simultaneously experience the same view, from two different times.
ENTANGLED BY LINDSAY SEERS:
From July 7 to August 5. Entangled will be screened on the hour every hour from 11am to 4pm, in a secret location in the gallery.
She delves into ideas around identity and doubles. Filmed in the Winter Gardens and Theatre Royal, the film explores Margate's theatrical past, and the world of English music hall male impersonators.
TEMPO PARA RESPIRAR BY MARIA NEPOMUCENO:
This is a new commission for the Sunley Gallery by Brazilian artist Maria Nepomuceno. From September 14 to March 24.
