Runaway bull causes chaos on A2 at Canterbury
A RUNAWAY bull has caused traffic chaos on the A2 at Canterbury.
The animal, which police described as being 'the size of an elephant', was flung onto the coast-bound carriageway just before 11am after the vehicle towing its box jack-knifed.
A police spokesman said: "The bull obviously wasn't best pleased when it happened and a vet was called quickly to sedate it - heavily."
The accident happened one mile south of the Bridge turn-off. At 12.45pm the road was still closed off in both directions.
The police said: "The incident has caused damage to the central reservation and the animal is still on the carriageway. It has caused chaos."

“Chris I think I may have got to the bottom of it.
The control room gave the patrol the wrong co-ordinates and they went to Howletts instead of The A2.”

“Yes I see what you mean now. The officers attending the incident could have missed the real bull, having been told to look for one as big as an elephant.
Perhaps they should have said 'bull-sized' to avoid any mis-identification. Or 'bigger than a cow'. What would you suggest?”

“Chris to be an officer of the law you have to make accurate judgements and statements.
Its a bit like a youth mugging an old lady and the police looking for a toddler..get my point ?”

“Ah, but suppose it was a baby elephant. How does that compare to a bull?”
