The bridge was designed by Canterbury City Council engineer Raj Dasan and mainly paid for by developers Berkeley Homes, who have built the Kingsbrook Park development.

The bridge was made by Chestfield company Steel Construction run by Stephen Cox. He said the operation went smoothly.

His company has also done work for Demelza House Hospice care for Children, Barton Court Grammar School, the Dogs Trust and the new gas refinery on the Isle of Grain.
