With the victim "refusing to co-operate", a 20-year-old woman, 15-year-old youth and 50-year-old man, all from Gillingham, were arrested but released without charge.

A Balmoral Road resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I saw a group of people talking and then the ambulance came. The police came and sealed everything off.

"They arrested a young woman. There were about five or six others and they all ran away. She was the one who called the ambulance in the first place."

He added: "I don't go out of the flat myself these days and this justifies my decision to stay in.

"You get a bit of noise along here, especially in the football season but I have never seen or heard of anything like this. ."
