RAMSGATE has been tipped as one of two UK seaside resorts to become a property hotspot for 2010.

The new high-speed trains, the possibility of a fast passenger ferry and cheap properties are the reasons website email4property.co.uk has highlighted the town.

The site says the average property price has dropped by 14 per cent from £169,885 in 2007 to £146,377 in 2009.

A representative said: “This has opened Ramsgate up to a whole new section of the market, with young families and first time buyers in a position to snap up the good value period properties lining the town's streets and crescents.”

The site also says the town’s good schools, primary and secondary, make it “an ideal place for families to set up a home”.

“Im with Greg the Canadian....Ramsgate rocks! My husband and i escaped SE London 2 years ago for more pleasant surroundings and we never regretted it. Ramsgate is gorgeous, packed full of history, quaint but has the feel of a real working town without being a dead and boring retirement type resort. With the cafe culture and cool restaurants opening up, its really got a trendy vibe about it. It has a little way to go but with the high speed link and Westwood Cross for shopping, we really couldnt ask for more. All between Kents truly beautiful countryside and the deep blue sea! Its certainly changed our lives living here and we are very proud to be Rams. It definitely deserves to be a 2010 hotspot, bring it on!”

“I have a wonder ful property in Ramsgate, with my brother, we bought 3 years ago on the advice of my brother. So it is very positive to read the article about Ramsgate being a future property hotspot. It is without doubt a very picturesque town and now has all the amenities of a big city without all the big city noise and population, plus being right on the beach is awesome.

It has wonderful buildings and the walk along the cliff is breath taking, not to mention it seems to have its own climate and the new restaurants and shops make it feel international but still has that good old British warmth.

    Rock on Ramsgate.”
