Some of the images were so graphic as to be classed under Level 5, the most serious category.
When he attended Canterbury Crown Court it was heard how Ivatt contacted a 14-year-old girl via a dating website and persuaded her to commit sexual acts for him on webcam, while he took pictures.

He had also downloaded hundreds of indecent images and videos of children.
Police found his depraved collection after they carried out a warrant at his home on July 19 last year.
Detective Sergeant David Shipley said: "At all stages of this investigation Ivatt sought to blame others including the victim in this case, only finally accepting responsibility at the last moment.
"As someone with previous experience and training of child protection, he more than most, must be aware of the damage his behaviour causes. I am pleased that he has been brought to justice and that Kent Police Child Exploitation Investigation Team continue to identify and protect children at risk of harm".
Ivatt was sentenced to 16 months for causing a child to engage in sexual activity and two months consecutively for the indecent image offences.
He was also made the subject of a 10 year sexual offences prevention order, which will control his access to the internet and children in the future.
