INVICTA Dynamos have praised Milton Keynes Thunder and the English Ice Hockey Association for the swift and punitive action taken over an incident which left Alistair Band with a dislocated jaw.

It happened in the match at Milton Keynes just over a week ago. Jack Robinson was thrown out of the match for a spearing offence which left the Dynamos' defenceman badly injured.

Since then the 20-year-old has been released from the Thunder and been handed a 20-game ban for spearing, a three year suspension for violent conduct and a further two years for bringing the game into disrepute.

Speaking about the latest developments Invicta club director Jackie Mason said: "We are pleased that the EIHA have acted so promptly and dealt harshly with what could have been a very serious injury. We would like to thank both the sport's governing body and Jack Robinson's former club, the Milton Keynes Thunder, for their support in resolving the situation and look forward to putting the incident behind us."

THE Gillingham-based club, meanwhile, have announced a new addition to the club's off-ice personnel by revealing that Glenn Thompson has been appointed as Business Development Director for the team.

Talking about the new role, Thompson said: "I have been working in the background with Jackie Mason and Kevin Parrish for the past six weeks, during difficult times for the club with injuries, accommodation issues, new players etc. However, I believe we have exciting times ahead for the Dynamos in the next few years.

"We are going to bring more entertainment to the Silver Blades Ice Rink and more trophies."

"We have a solid management structure at the club and a very solid business plan to move the organisation forward. I think we have the best fans in the league and they deserve to be entertained and watch their team climb the table. We have had a couple of sponsors back us over the past couple of weeks and are talking to other sponsors for next year."

Mason added: "We are very pleased to welcome Glenn on board as we are sure he will bring a new vision and perspective to the club. The directors and management would like to thank all the supporters for the loyalty they have shown during what has been a very difficult start to the season and we now look forward to working with Glenn and the supporters as we take the club forward."

The Dynamos are constantly on the lookout for further sponsorship opportunities to help maintain excellent on and off ice standards and Thompson is therefore seeking assistance.

The club has numerous investment options available and invite inquiries from any interested parties. Thompson can be contacted by email at glenn@inten.co.uk or by phone at 07793 443010.
