Power outage in Ramsgate following an electricity fault

HUNDREDS of residents were left without power this morning after a fault occured on an electricity network in Herbert Road, Ramsgate.

Fire crews were called to the scene just before 11am this morning (Thursday) following reports of a substation explosion.

894 people were initially affected by the outage.

Engineers from UK Power Networks are currently working to restore power to 508 residents.

At 1pm, 87 residents were still without power.

Engineers continue to work on the fault, and hope to restore power to the remaining customers as soon as possible.
