Police warn drivers of icy conditions
MOTORISTS are being advised to drive with caution after weather forecasters predicted snow and icy conditions.
The Met Office says snow showers are expected across the county, with heavy falls in some parts later this evening.#
The temperature is expected to drop to freezing, increasing the possibility of black ice on some roads.
Chief Inspector Nicola Faulconbridge of Kent Police's Force Communications Centre said: "There doesn't have to be significant snow fall to make the county's roads hazardous.
"We would urge drivers to drive according to the conditions they face. This includes checking the weather forecast and traffic updates before travelling, de-icing your car fully before setting off, increasing stopping distances and carrying warm clothing in the car.
"The volume of calls to Kent Police always increases when we experience bad weather and a lot of these calls relate to road accidents which is why we would urge drivers to take all necessary precautions before travelling to help make their journey safer."
