Police chief invites public to community meeting
KENT'S Police & Crime Commisssioner Ann Barnes is to hold a series of 'Meet the Commissioner' events at Oakwood House, Maidstone on February 20 at 6.30pm.
She said she hopes the public, community groups, local councillors, representatives of the voluntary sector, and anyone with an interest in policing to meet the Commissioner and to raise an issue of concern.
Mrs Barnes, 67, said: 'I am determined to be a pioneer in the way that the role of Police Commissioner develops. These 'Meet the Commissioner' events are part of my steps to deliver my pledge to be the most open, accessible and transparent Police Commissioner in the country.
"I want local people and organisations to come and talk directly to me about issues that are affecting them. The events will be relaxed, informal and allow the opportunity for real debate and discussion with interested people and organisations."
