Photographer Kim aims to create old-fashioned seaside memories
A NEW art studio will open on Margate's Harbour Arm this weekend.
Photography student Kim Conway will officially open the Seaside Portrait Studio tomorrow (Saturday) at noon.
At the studio visitors will be able to have their photograph taken against a traditional seaside back drop.
Kim said: "I want to bring back the fun of the traditional seaside studio, where people can come and have their photo taken and printed there and then."

Kim has just completed the second year of her photography degree at Canterbury Christ Church University's Broadstairs campus.
Most of her work is digital, but her new project is a return to old-fashioned prints.
She said: "Digital is wonderful but it is nice to go back to the traditional methods of photography.
"I'm really interested in history photography and it is fun to create something that goes back to those roots."
As well as recreating the retro days of seaside photography, Kim hopes to create a lasting memory for visitors to Margate.
Prints start at £3.50 and among the props to pose with is an original "Kiss Me Quick" hat, more than 30 years old.
Kim said: "It is a bit of fun, and so Margate. It's about the old seaside days of deck chairs, ice cream and Kiss Me Quick."
A trial run two weeks ago at Rough Trade in Fort Hill, Margate, was a runaway success.
Kim said: "The feedback I got was amazing. People have said to me that they have their photograph in a silver frame and they smile every time they look at it. For me, that is what photography is about."
The Seaside Portrait Studio, Studio 9A, Margate Harbour Arm, opens tomorrow (Saturday) at noon. The studio will be open daily throughout the summer from 11am.

“Worth noting as well that neither the photographer in question, nor the paper using this photograph, contacted any of the models, nor the child in the photograph's parents, to obtain legally required release forms for use where Kim Conway's business is clearly using their likeness to advertise and promote her services.

“I'm upset that you used a picture of my models who were working for me that day collecting monies for charity and promoting my shop. Both the studio featured in the article AND the publishing paper fail to mention my business and the reason why ten girls were walking around Margate Old Town wearing vintage swimsuits collecting monies in buckets for charity (it was for Oasis the women's refuge if you must know ). Very bad journalism....”
