Pedal power nets £7k for school building
A GROUP of eight cyclists have shown off their pedal power after completing a bike ride from Paris to Platt to raise funds for a new school building.
The parents, friends and governors from Platt Primary School returned from their 260-mile jaunt on Monday and were welcomed by a crowd of pupils waving banners.

The four-day ride saw the cyclists travel to Abbeville, Calais, Dover and then back to the school before the children went home.
Two others joined the team to provide support and followed the cyclists in a car.
Around £7,000 was raised, which will be put towards the huge £850,000 sum needed to part-fund the new school building on Green Belt land north of Maidstone Road.
Despite broken spokes and punctures, school governor Paul Vallance, one of the cyclists, said: "I'm so pleased we have done it and it was tough, but really good fun. Everyone did really well."
