The infants received the symbols from Dame Janet Junior School and, with the buildings only 100 metres apart, the Young Ambassadors Brandon Johns and Lauren Marsh had made the shortest trip so far between schools.

Brandon and Lauren handed the torches to Dame Janet Infant school Young Ambassadors Elinga Jutelyte and Max Cocks, before 19 drummers launched into a musical show, which included the song This Little Torch Of Mine and the school's own rap.

The dance club performed to Chariots of Fire, spelling out 2012 on card. The event finished with Sing A Song Of People about the message of peace and friendship that the Olympic flame brings.

On Tuesday, the torch relay arrived at The Marlowe Academy.

Elinga Jutelyte and Max Cocks, Young Ambassadors from Dame Janet Infant School, spoke about the work that they had done at their school the previous week, before they handed the torches and flag to Lucas Deverson and Chloe Lewis, the academy's Young Ambassadors.
