New shirts for new season

CANTERBURY Cricket Club juniors finally dodged the rain and welcomed in the new season by displaying their new shirts, sponsored by local estate agents Godwin Curtis.

David Godwin was on hand to meet some of the youngsters.

Richard Durrant, chairman of the junior club, said: "We are delighted to be fielding six teams in both boys and girls competitions this summer."

He also praised the hard work of the club's coaches in recent seasons. The club are based at Polo Farm.
