A MODERN-looking restaurant and bar could be built at the heart of Folkestone Harbour.

Members of the Creative Foundation and the Folkestone Harbour Company unveiled the designs for the eatery this week.

Members of the public and businesses based in the harbour area were invited to a special consultation yesterday to view the proposals.

Developers want to demolish the existing Jetty's bar and nearby café to make way for the new build.

The restaurant could cater for between 80 and 100 customers and offers sea views from a balcony.

Construction could begin by the summer if Shepway District Council approves of the plans.
