NEARLY 250 dogs were chipped at Medway Council's A Day for Every Dog events this month. A total of 243 dogs were chipped over five events held at different locations in Medway.

Visitors welcomed the free dog micro chipping provided by Medway Council and the Dogs Trust, free health checks from the PDSA and free obedience training and advice from Borstal Barkers which included an agility course.

Portfolio Holder for Community Safety and Customer Contact, Councillor Mike O'Brien said: "These events proved to be popular and offered the right balance of information and fun for dog owners and their pets.

"I'm pleased that dog owners took advantage of the free micro chipping service. Medway Council picks up approximately 50 stray dogs every month but by micro-chipping them; they stand a better chance of being reunited with their owners.
