Memorial campaign to honour war hero
A WAR hero killed in Afghanistan just 12 weeks after his wedding day may be honoured on a memorial.
Father-of-two Lance Corporal Ivano Violino, also known as Sean, was killed by a roadside bomb on a routine convoy in Helmand Province in September 2007.

PL2002103_7 MEMORIAL Cllr Lynette Sargent and Paul Bearsby want the name of Paul's son in law Lance Corporal Ivano (Sean) Violino added to Shipbourne War memorial after he was killed in Afganistan.
The 29-year-old had been married to Katey for just three months and they were living in Kings Hill.
The couple tied the knot at Shipbourne's St Giles' Church. Parish councillor Lynette Sargent has been the driving force behind the campaign to get his name on the memorial there.
She said: "His name's always been read out when we do the Remembrance Day service, and this year when it came out and his family was there, I thought it would be rather nice if we could put it on the memorial.
"These young soldiers are going out there and they're giving up their lives."
The councillor has the support of L Cpl Violino's family.
Father-in-law Paul Bearsby, of Dunks Green, said: "Whether you agree they should be out there or not, they're still due respect.
"I think it's very current and unfortunately since Sean there's been an awful lot more."
The Royal British Legion is behind the scheme.
Cllr Sargent now needs approval from the War Memorial Trust and planning permission from the borough council, as the memorial is listed and within a Conservation Area.
