CUTTING THE RIBBON: Vera Dick opens the new premises of Total Orthodontics in Tonbridge
The ribbon was cut by 101-year-old Vera Dick whose late husband built the premises. Mrs Dick's husband had run his own business from the building, where the couple had lived for many happy years. Mrs Dick's great granddaughter's husband had also run a business from the building until he sold it to Total Orthodontics last year.
Practice manager Kelly Hufton said: "Mrs Dick is amazing for 101. She stayed with us for the whole evening and seemed to enjoy a glass of fizz. The new premises are state-of-the-art. We have a lot more space and it's clean and well equipped."
Dentists, nurses, matrons and sisters attended the opening of the new venue, which will include three surgeries, a digital x-ray and more office space.
The practice, which specialises in braces, has four orthodontists and a nurse in training to become an orthodontic therapist.
