Lined up for November are Scottish music legends the Proclaimers, who are celebrating the 26th anniversary of their first album, This Is The Story.

In June funnyman Les Dennis stars in Legally Blonde The Musical, followed by John Chapman's farce Dry Rot.

Other highlights include West End musical Dreamcoats And Petticoats; The Gruffalo; the first non-London performance of Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, to celebrate its 60th anniversary; the West End comedy The Ladykillers; and Alan Ayckbourn's new ghost story Jaunting Julia.

Penelope Keith is to star in the Keith Waterhouse comedy Good Grief in October. Broadway musical Chicago is also booked for November, although the cast has not yet been announced.

Opera company Glyndebourne will visit the theatre in November with The Marriage Of Figaro and a new opera called The Yellow Sofa.

The Philharmonia Orchestra will be performing Holst's Planets Suite next May.

Theatre director Mark Everett said: "Details of the new programme were given first to the Friends of the Marlowe. We have never had a busier day in the booking office than when the details were released."

Paraplegic yachtswoman Hilary Lister, from Faversham, will be hosting a night in the theatre's studio in July with a documentary on her voyage around Britain made by Boughton film maker Peter Williams.
