MUM of one Sarah Ripley has spoken of the day she came back from the dead – twice.

Sarah, 20, of William Avenue, Margate was knifed twice in Granville Road, Broadstairs on Thursday, January 19.

She suffered two punctured lungs and stopped breathing twice while she was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.

She told the Thanet Times: "It was scary. When I woke up in intensive care I had a big tube in my neck. I just didn't know what was going on."

The Thanet College student, who is now home from hospital, says she is too terrified to leave the house.

But Miss Ripley is relieved to have seen her four-year-old son Danny for the first time since the attack.

She said: "That's what I was most scared about – not seeing my son."

This week, the Thanet Times will reunite Miss Ripley with the man who stemmed her bleeding at the scene of the attack.

Julian Holland, 43, a Broadstairs mechanic, held her in his arms while he waited for medics.

Miss Ripley, said: "I don't know what I'm going to say. I owe him my life, really."

The modest hero is reluctant to accept the praise of friends and family who have hailed him a life saver.

Mr Holland told the Thanet Times: "To be honest, anyone would have done the same."

Kent Police are yet to arrest the woman suspected of stabbing Miss Ripley.

Last Thursday, officers were in Broadstairs searching for witnesses a week after the assault.

Detective Sergeant Neil Watford said: "We are following up on a number of leads and are actively seeking the female suspect, who was known to the victim, but we would still like to hear from anyone who has any information which could help this investigation."

Anyone with information is urged to contact Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting reference number ZY/1879/12.
