Margate Lawn Tennis Club will benefit from Olympic legacy cash
MARGATE Lawn Tennis Club have been handed more than £45,000 as part of the Olympic legacy.
The club in Tivoli Park Avenue, have secured £45,811 from Sport England's inspired facilities fund.

The money will go towards upgrading the facilities and installing additional floodlights and much-needed court fencing, as well as security fencing and building renovations.
Chairman John Taylor said: "We are delighted to have secured this investment. It means we can upgrade the quality of all our courts to match the quality of coaches and team players, and build for our future and tennis in the community.

The inspired facilities fund is part of the £135 million Places People Play legacy programme that is bringing the magic of a home Olympic and Paralympic Games into communities across the country. Every sports facility that receives funding will carry the London 2012 Inspire mark, celebrating the link to the Games.
Margate have helped thousands of local people, young and old to take part in sport since the club first opened in 1907.
Margate MP, Sir Roger Gale, said: "I am delighted that Sport England is making this very considerable investment in the future of our club.
"I hope very much that the combination of enhanced facilities and security will enable the club to attract many more new, and in particular young, players.
"I know that historically the club has produced some of Kent's top players and that is a tradition that we want to see continued."
