Medway's costumed Superhero on Skates: is he a Peter or Paul?
CLUES have emerged about the identity of a costumed daredevil who made national headlines by skating while hanging from a moving car.
The News reported how the unidentified rollerblader, dressed as superhero Captain America, risked his safety by clinging onto a vehicle as it drove through the streets of Medway last month.
Now, reader Anthony Pugh, 22, from Gillingham, has come forward to tell how he saw the man, who police labelled irresponsible and highly dangerous, jump traffic lights by McDonald's in Beechings Way, Twydall.
He said: "I had just come out of McDonalds and a car jumped through flashing amber lights and nearly hit me.
"The skater had a sign on his front. It either said 'Look at me my name is Paul' or 'Look at me my name is Pete'."
The car was an L-reg Citreon. It headed towards Watling Street.
Police are still trying to identify the skater.
