He is alleged to have filmed four movies of boys in the swimming pool changing rooms at Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre, on St John's Road.

The offences are said to have taken place between December 12, 2009, and February 2, 2010.

He also faces a further 11 charges.

These include possessing more than 200 indecent images of children, and four other indecent movies.

They range from level one to the most serious, level five.

Phillips, who spoke only to confirm his name, was also accused of two counts of "voyeurism".

He withheld a plea on all charges.

The case was adjourned until the morning of October 5 for committal proceedings to crown court.

Phillips was bailed on condition he did not go to any leisure centre or swimming pool, did not have any camera or any equipment that could be used as a camera, and that he must not use the internet except for work.

The defendant, whose parents sat at the back of the court throughout the hearing, was dressed in a dark grey suit, black shoes and checked black and white tie.

He changed into denim shorts, white t-shirt and tartan-coloured furry cap before leaving the court.
