Lovell's men off the mark in a thriller
ASHFORD Town sent their fans home happy at last with their first league win of the season as they finished on top in a five-goal thriller against Whyteleafe at The Homelands.
Paul Scott gave the visitors the lead late in the opening half, but big defender John Guest scored his first goal in a Town shirt to equalise just after the interval.
They seemed to cruising as a goal from Joe Fuller and a Mitchell Sherwood penalty took Steve Lovell's side into a 3-1 lead.
Sam Butler knocked in a tit-for-tat penalty for the visitors, but Lovell's men just about held on.
