THE Lord Mayor of Canterbury officially looks like the back end of a bus.
Councillor Robert Waters' image has been emblazoned on the back of the Stagecoach vehicle, to promote the Christmas Gift Fund.

BUS: Lord Mayor Robert Waters with Stagecoach in East Kent MD Paul Southgate
The bus, which he unveiled at the council offices in Military Road, will be seen on the city's bus routes throughout the festive season.
It will generate awareness of the cause, which has raised money for the vulnerable and elderly every Christmas for the past 50 years.

He said: "The Christmas Gift Fund is a local charity that benefits people living in our Canterbury community who may be elderly, vulnerable or facing particular hardship. It was founded in 1952 so, just like the Queen, we are celebrating our diamond jubilee this year."
Of the advertising on the bus, he said: "It's a moving advertising board which is seen by thousands every day so I thank Stagecoach for helping us, once again, to raise funds for this worthwhile charity.
"We have already pledged £18,000 this year and shall be giving away, in the name of the Lord Mayor of Canterbury, some 500 grocery parcels and £3,000-worth of toy vouchers."
