GREEN-fingered youngsters have been helping with the gardening at a new housing development in Biggin Hill.

The children from Honey's Nursery and Stingers Kids Club, which is based at the Spitfire Club in the recreation ground, were planting grass speeds to create a green space at the Leavesden estate, in Main Road.

Clare Rooke, sales manager for Bryant Homes, which built the new homes, said: "The children who attend the Stingers Kids Club were very excited to have the chance to help transform such a large area and after some keen sowing and watering we're all now keeping our fingers crossed for May sunshine to bring out a lush new lawn."
