Let's talk about diabetes - Margate
Diabetic patients, parents and carers are invited to attend an event to talk about how to improve diabetes services in east Kent on Monday 4 March.
The Let's talk about diabetes event, which will take place at the Exhibition Suite, Northdown House, Margate, will give people affected by diabetes an opportunity to talk to other patients and service providers about the services they receive locally.
The event has been organised by the NHS East Kent Federation (working on behalf of the four Clinical Commissioning Groups that will become responsible for planning and paying for health services in east Kent from 1 April).

There will be two sessions, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and also 5.30pm to 7.30pm which will look at what currently works well in the diabetes patient pathway and prioritise services or gaps that patients think could be improved.
Claire Martin, Diabetes Project Manager for east Kent, said: "Diabetes is a long term condition which affects many people in east Kent. We want to put patients at the centre of our future commissioning decisions about service improvements. This event will give us the opportunity to engage people at the beginning of the process about improving outcomes for people with diabetes and we would really like patients to work with us to co-design better services in their local area."
Other events have been organised in Ashford (5 March), Deal (6 March) and Folkestone (13 March) and patients and carers are welcome to attend these sessions.
