Lessons in being super
PUPILS at Hampton Primary looked like they had eaten Kryptonite with their cornflakes for the school's Superhero day.
Supermen and superwomen were joined by a smattering of batmen and several spiderstudents.
But it was self-described Robotman and his battery of buttons and feline fury Superkitty – with the power to climb trees and stretch her tail miles long – who stole the show.
The super Year 2 students dressed up to celebrate the end of a special superhero course, teacher Aisha Burkitt explained.
She said: "The children have been learning about superheroes and writing their own superhero stories.
"They've also been learning about superheroes versus villains so we can introduce some ethical issues. We have three Year 2 classes so there was lots of super activity going on.
"They also worked as teams to design and paint their own life-sized superheroes, who are now up around the school. There were quite a few Supermen – and Spiderman was also very popular.
"Some children came as their own superheroes: Superkitty and Super-robot stole the show with their unique powers."
Mrs Burkitt joined head teacher Yvonne Nunn as a Superteacher.
