Kent League winner Porter: "It's my proudest day in football"
DELIRIOUS Hythe Town boss Scott Porter is probably nursing a sore head right now - but he's woken up a Kent League champion.
In his first interview since lifting the title - and minutes after dowining two-thirds of a bottle of champagne! - jubilant Porter said: "It's the proudest day of my footballing career.
-

"We've come so far - 10 months for some poeple and two years for me as a manager - and it's the icing on the cake."
Hythe clinched the title after Tunbridge Wells goalkeeper Michael Czanner made an absolute howler - gifting them an equaliser - in the 90th minute. Cass was given the goal and the point proved enough to win the title on goal difference.
"Winning it like we did makes it all the better," Porter said.
"We don't do it easy.
"At half-time i lost the plot. I went mad at the lads and told them a few things.
"They were terrible in the first half, they weren't at the races and after that we did get a bit of luck.
"The pitch was poor so we knew something was going to go for us.
"The keeper made a mistake but it's all about us today.
"It's not just about this 90 minutes - it's about the last 10 months of the season.
"It's a great team, a great club and I'm a proud man.
"The FA Cup run was great but this is what we set our stall out to do.
"We wanted to get in the Ryman and I'm absolutely delighted."
