Beckenham Town: 2

Tunbridge Wells: 1

TUNBRIDGE Wells suffered their third defeat on the bounce on Saturday, but boss Martin Larkin says there is no cause for alarm at the moment.

Larkin felt his side deserved to leave Eden Park Avenue with a least a point after seeing Wells dominate large chunks of the game against Beckenham Town.

They also had good penalty shouts turned down and were on the wrong end of several disappointing refereeing decisions.

"It was hugely frustrating," Larkin said.

"It was an awful pitch, but everyone ran their legs off. Charlie Sharman (signed on loan) played for an hour and was very, very good.

"Everyone played their part, it was just disappointing not to get anything from the game. We created a lot more than we have for while."

Wells nearly opened the scoring after just 15 seconds when an awful mix up from the home side's defence allowed Benji Agana to nick in.

For all the world it looked like his shot would fly in, but a defender came from nowhere to clear the danger.

Weir gave Beckenham the lead from the spot on 22 minutes, although Wells were furious about a penalty being awarded when Perry Spackman was adjudged to have given away a foul, even though he slipped.

However, they equalised on the stroke of half-time when Jon Pilbeam coolly finished.

Wells could have been in front with Carl Cornell, Alex Rich and Tom Davey all going close, but it was the hosts that got the winner in the final quarter when Gorman fired home.

Wells were once again furious when Mike Lord had a late goal ruled out for a dubious offside, but will have to take the decision on the chin.

Larkin's side have now only won once in the league since November, but the manager is confident once he has a full strength team to choose from, the results will start rolling in.

"We've not actually played that many games in that period and haven't actually played for three weeks," he said. " We know when we have everyone fit to choose from we are a match for anyone. This season, when we've been at full strength, we've not lost a game."

Wells now face three very winnable games in the coming weeks against Corinthian (at home, tomorrow, 3pm ko), Sevenoaks and Fisher.

"We owe them (Corinthian) one to be fair," Larkin said.

" They beat us on a Tuesday night in December when we went up there unbeaten in nine games. We were a bit cocky and they taught us a lesson. Hopefully we can teach them one on Saturday."
