Kim enjoys top welcome at Irish Open
GOLF: Golf fan Kim Standen, from Denton, packed his bags and headed off to see some of the best players in the world compete at the Irish Open last weekend thanks to a competition run by Tourism Ireland.
Kim won the prize – three nights accommodation and tickets to the Irish Open –- when he attended the Golf Live event held at the London Club in Ash.
The likes of world number two Rory McIlroy, Open champion Darren Clarke and Major winners Padraig Harrington, Graeme McDowell and 2011 US PGA winner were in action at the event, won by Welshman Jamie Donaldson.
Kim said: "It was a great experience to see the Irish Open as there's no substitute for watching the top professionals in action."
