Kent chief executive Jamie Clifford offers players support after tragic death of Tom Maynard
KENT chief executive Jamie Clifford has pledged to offer any player the counselling they need to help them come to terms with the death of fellow pro Tom Maynard.
Maynard, who played against Kent for Surrey on Sunday, was pronounced dead less than 24 hours after the t20 clash at Beckenham.
He was hit by a tube train in London in the early hours of Monday morning.
Matt Coles has been involved in the same England Lions squad as Maynard, the son of Glamorgan legend Matt, while most of the squad have played against him in his time at Glamorgan and Surrey.

Clifford said: "If any player needs anything in the way of support we'll of course be on hand to give it to them.
"I speak for all players, members of staff and supporters in saying we're desperately sad for his family at this tragic time.
"Our players would have played against him and gone on tours with him so we all feel it and our relationship with our fellow counties is very close too,
"Our thoughts are with Tom's family at this time."
