DANNY SPILLER struck late for Gillingham as they came away from Morecambe wondering how they didn't win.

Lance Cronin, between the sticks, couldn't have had an easier debut and only had to pick the ball out of the net after Gills were hit by a sucker punch when Craig Stanley scored with a header just before the hour mark.

It looked like being the same old story for Hessy's men as chances came and went with Morecambe keeper Roche in fine form.

However, Spiller headered home at the back post on 84 minutes to earn Gills a point that should maybe have been three.

DOVER ATHLETIC did pick up three points in their Confernece South match at Lewes.

An own-goal from a Baker cross gave them a first-half lead before two goals in nine minutes in the second half from Charles and Crawfrod secured the win.

Margate fell to defeat in the Ryman Prem at Lowestoft, as Shaun Welford made his debut for the Blues. They led through Marsden before the home side turned it around with goals either side of half time.

FOLKESTONE lost and had a player sent off. Invicta fell to a 1-0 defeat at Sutton as Mike Everitt saw red.

FA CUP round-up

FAVERSHAM and Whitstable are definately through to the next round of the cup.

The Lilywhites earned a 2-0 home win against Pagham thanks to goals from Luchford and Lye, with Whitstable going one better, beating Croydon 3-0. Stuart Vahid bagged a brace with Gareth Cornhill adding the third late on.

RAMSGATE will have to travel to Godalming on Tuesday night for a reply after the visitors snatched a late injury-time equaliser. Rams had led through Mitchell Sherwood's penalty in the first half and looked onn course to trouser £500 prize money before the late goal. It also means Rams' game against Chatham on Monday night has been postponed.

LORDSWOOD and Herne Bay will have to play each other again after they battled out a 2-2 draw. Stuart King grabbed Bay's equaliser in the second half, his second of the game.

NOTHING went right for Sittingbourne in their home game against Andover. First they were reduced to 10 men, with Manners given his marching orders, before Bannan scored a second-half own goal to condemn them to a 1-0 defeat.

Chatham also fell short in the cup. Solley was sent off, but they did take the lead before eventually falling to a 2-1 defeat at Chertsey.
