POLICE are advertising 60 vacancies for Police Community Support Officers to serve throughout Kent.

Kent Police Chief Constable Ian Learmonth said: "Kent is one of the safest places to live in the country and these new additions to the Kent Police family will help ensure we keep it that way. It is completely in keeping with my commitment to keep visible neighbourhood policing at the heart of what we do."

The recruitment drive for the new PCSOs comes after the announcement in January by Kent Crime Commissioner, Ann Barnes, that she would increase the police force in Kent by almost 100 officers this year.

In addition to the PCSOs, Kent Police will be looking to recruit 20 constables and 18 custody attendants.
