Kent County Council approves Sevenoaks grammar school
PLANS for a new grammar school in Sevenoaks have this afternoon been approved by Kent County Council.
In an historic decision, councillors in Maidstone voted by 66-3, with one abstention, in favour of opening a satellite campus in the town following a successful campaign by parents.

The grammar school plan was approved at County Hall this afternoon
It will be for boys and girls and be run by two of three grammar schools in Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge.
Reacting to KCC’s decision to approve new grammar school places in Sevenoaks, campaigner Sarah Shilling said: "This is great news for the children of Sevenoaks as they may finally get the local grammar school places that they so desperately need and deserve.
To celebrate the opening of our new offices in Canterbury and Whitstable we are offering 50% off our standard selling fees on production of this voucher.

"On behalf of all 2,620 of our supporters and the community of Sevenoaks, I would like to wholeheartedly thank KCC and, in particular, Councillor Mike Whiting for listening to the concerns of Sevenoaks parents, and for then acting.
"I would also like to thank our 2,620 supporters. Without the overwhelming support of our community, we would not have been able to mount such an effective, lightening campaign over just three months."

“Good news for T Wells residents surely? More places for local pupils that may have been swiped by Sevenoaks kids? What do you think?”
