KCC cabinet job for Whitstable's Mark Dance
Mark Dance, one of Whitstable's two Conservative county councillors, has been appointed cabinet member for regeneration and economic development at Tory-controlled Kent County Council, it was announced yesterday (Thursday May 3).
The Seasalter resident runs a building firm and has been a county councillor since 1997. In recent years he has held the cabinet brief for education and been chairman of the regeneration and economic development policy overview and scrutiny committee.
Councillor Dance paid tribute to his predecessor in the post, Kevin Lynes, who died suddenly last month: "Kevin was a powerhouse of energy and I will continue with vital efforts to achieve the best possible outcomes for businesses in Kent and the regeneration of the county."
