KCC bigwig backs calls for one-way road system
CALLS to trial a one-way system in Paddock Wood have won the backing of the deputy leader of Kent County Council.
Alex King told the Courier he was "fully supportive" of proposals to stop traffic entering Commercial Road at the junction with Church Road.

He said: "When we looked at it before I thought it improved the whole flow of things.

High street shopkeepers disrupted by daily gridlock and cars parking on double-yellow lines have argued traffic needs to be rerouted.
The Paddock Wood Business Association has said alterations would also provide more parking, as both sides of the road could be used.
It would be up to the county council, as the highway authority, to implement a one-way scheme, and Mr King has pledged to push for talks with road chiefs and businesses.
He said: "I will make sure it's looked at properly. I can't promise it is going to happen as we will need to look at all the ramifications.
"There will be highways issues and traders' concerns, but if it makes life easier for the business community then I am fully supportive."
