Junk mail on Maidstone Council's agenda
JUNK mail and its impact on the environment will be a subject for discussion for Maidstone councillors next week.
The regeneration and sustainable communities overview and scrutiny committee is looking into the issue and is keen to hear the views of residents.
The committee will meet on March 23 at 6.30pm at the when representatives from the Direct Marketing Association, the Town Centre Management, and a Stop Junk Mail campaigner will give their opinions.
Members will also be talking to the businesses about solutions to reducing the amount of junk mail sent out.
The council wants to know how much unsolicited mail is being sent out and which businesses are sending it.
