Jogger injured in Wateringbury catapult attack

A WOMAN out jogging in Wateringbury was injured by an object fired from a catapult on Monday.

The 20-year-old required hospital treatment after the item, which was fired from a white van, struck her on the leg.

As she ran towards the junction of Pizien Well Road and Tonbridge Road, a passenger in the van wound down the window and fired an unidentified object at her.

Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying the attacker.

Sergeant Mark Ginsberg from Kent Police said: "This was an assault against a victim who was simply out exercising and causing no bother or inconvenience to anyone.

"We would be very keen to hear from anyone who saw the van in the area at the time or who witnessed the assault so we can identify the driver and passenger and speak to them about this report."
