James Franco Teams Up With 7 For All Mankind
Is there anything that James Franco can’t do? Actor, voluntary worker, student, lecturer, director, painter, writer, and now fashion designer. The recent announcement that James Franco is to release a t-shirt collection with 7 For All Mankind this September perhaps shouldn’t be all that surprising, as it seems only right that the 21st Century Renaissance man has forayed into the world of clothing design.
The t-shirts, which are being released online on 6th September, are the product of collaboration between Franco and 7 For All Mankind. The shirts are set to embody the “cool Californian spirit” of the brand, and the story behind me is every bit as quirky as Franco himself. Franco had been working on a multimedia campaign for 7 For All Mankind’ infamous jeans range, and whilst directing the jean brand’s new ads had taken over 3,100 Polaroids during the shoot. The designs on the shirts will include a selection of these Polaroids, as well as a Franco signature on the hem.
The launch of the t-shirts will, perhaps not coincidentally, coincide with the fourth annual Fashion’s Night Out in NYC. The event, which takes place on 6th September, is already set to be bigger than ever. The advertising campaign is a star-studded affair, with the likes of Glee’s Darren Criss, Victoria Beckham, and Marc Jacobs all pitching in to explain everything you need to know about FNO. A very fortunate piece of timing for the actor’s design debut.
Franco’s t-shirts will be priced at $89 each, are screen-printed, and the shirts themselves are available in either black or white. After the success of his first campaign, his second campaign for 7 For All Mankind starring Lily Donaldson and Henry Hopper will be debuting soon in order to coincide with the Fall. It’s also just been announced that a new film that Franco co-stars in will also be released during NYC’s Fashion Week. What a busy bee he is.
The Editeur are huge fans of 7 For All Mankind, and are looking forward to Franco’s Fall campaign. The Chester based boutique stock 7 For All Mankind’s jeans collection, along with a number of other designer denim collections including J Brand and Current Elliott. The shop is situated in a historic Cheshire city, and the staff will be more than happy to help you find your perfect pair of jeans or anything else that your wardrobe may need.
