JAIL: Ryan Davie will spend 6 months in jail
Last Wednesday Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court heard on Wednesday of last week (April 14) Davie, of Kingsground, Eltham, originally believed he was the father of Miss Galvin's baby.
However, DNA tests later revealed he was not and Miss Galvin had since started another relationship.
At an earlier hearing Davie pleaded guilty to damaging a Vauxhall Astra belonging to Miss Galvin's stepfather Stuart McClean.
He also pleaded guilty to destroying a Vauxhall Astra belonging to Miss Galvin's mother, Karen McClean. Both cars were written off.
Davie had also admitted damaging the window in the back door of the family home, using threatening or unlawful violence and breaking the terms of a previous conditional discharge.
Magistrates spent more than an hour last week reading pre-sentence reports and victim statements.
Caroline Mitchell, prosecuting, said: "Clearly this incident has had a significant impact on the family and the fact they feel afraid to come into court today adds to that."
On March 21, Davie went to the house in Bentleys Meadow and demanded to speak to Miss Galvin.
Denied entry by her mother, he then tried to climb in through the kitchen window but Mr McClean pushed him back with a baseball bat.
Davie began throwing things at the house, breaking a window, before attacking the couple's cars.
By this time the police had been called and because mention had been made of Davie holding a kitchen knife, an armed response team arrived.
Police found no knife but discovered Davie "carrying a 3ft long wooden stick and behaving in an aggressive manner".
Andrew Main, defending, said: "All of the offences he has committed are as a result of his relationship with Melanie Galvin. He has just got to stay away from her.
"He knows absolutely he was in the wrong. She had been taunting him earlier on the telephone and he simply saw red."
He said Davie had stood by his girlfriend even when he discovered her new baby was not his. However, he was now ready to draw a line under the relationship.
Davie was given 180 days behind bars for the affray, 90 days for breaching his conditional discharge and 30 days for each of the criminal damage charges, all to run consecutively.
"You have had a very profound affect on these victims," said chairman of the bench Stuart Oakenfull.
He said Davie must spend half of his 330-day sentence in prison and would return to complete the rest if he re-offended.
A three-year restraining order was put in place, preventing him from going near Miss Galvin or her family.
No compensation order was made for the cars. The court heard most of the cost was covered by insurance.
