FOLKESTONE Invicta go into tomorrow's top of table clash with Worthing unexpectedly still level on points with their Sussex visitors.

The Rebels - missing injured front man Ryan Woodford (ligaments) - crashed 3-0 to lowly Eastbourne Town at The Saffrons on Wednesday.

That left Simon Colbran's side now only top again on goal difference from Invicta following Folkestone's own outstanding win over the Met Police on Tuesday.

But there's only one goal in it now - as the three first half goals their local rivals banged in reduced Worthing's goal difference to 13 - with 34 for and 21 against from 16 games..

They do remain the highest goalscorers in Divison One South - though now only marginally so while Folkestone have comfortably the best defensive record in the division with just seven against in 14 games.

Scoring them has been a little bit of a problem for Invicta who have mustered just 19 in those same 14 matches, but their results have spoken for themselves, and they do have two games in hand as these figures indicate.

At Eastbourne, Worthing managed to miss TWO second half penalties, the first saved well from Jamie Brotherton by Russell Tanner, but the second a poor effort by Ben Johnson.

Despite being awarded those two spot-kicks the Rebels were far from happy with referee O'Keefe.

After just about surviving a poor performance by match offiical Nolan Wilde in their midweek game, Folkestone will hope for one of the better officials at this level for arguably the biggest game in Ryman One so far this season.

And they will also keep their fingers crossed for a better result than their previous First v Second home clash of the campaign - which resulted in their only league defeat so far - a 1-0 reverse to Godalming in the infamous 'crossbar's not high enough' fixture earlier this season.
