CHANGES made without planning permission at a popular village business will be the subject of a planning inquiry.

A marquee for functions, a decking area and an extended car park were installed at The Barnyard at Upchurch.

Swale Council turned down a retrospective application for permission and ordered the alterations be reversed.

However, A C Goatham and Sons appealed against the council’s decisions and in a change to the original planned procedure, will now be dealt with by an inquiry.

The deadline for people’s comments has been extended until April 6.
